1 Heliocentric Theory : Europe was beginning to change in 1500. Ptolemy said that everything orbited around Earth. The Heliocentric Theory says that everything orbits the Sun.

2 Nicolaus Copernicus : Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Poland in 1473. Copernicus was born in the Renaissance but wasn’t inspired by their culture. He gained interest in science and astronomy in school.

3 Vesalius : Vesalius was born in 1514 in Brussels. Being a doctor ran in Vesalius’ family. Vesalius made the first challenge to Galen’s theories of anatomy in 1300 years. Galen studied on animal’s bodies instead of human bodies and Vesalius studied human bodies.

4 The Pencil : Pencils we invented shorty after a graphite mine was found in England in 1500. Pencils are made of graphite rods encased in wood. They are a cheap way to write and erase.
