About a week ago, I finished everything in the tank to work with an engine. Then yesterday, my dad called one of his friends who owns a hobby store and asked about nitro engines.
He said that nitro engines of the size I need wouldn’t have enough power to move it, and that electric motors would be better. So we went to a hobby store near us to ask about better electric motors and the guy that worked there said that a power drill would work well for driving the tank. After we got a newer drill from a pawn shop, my dad took it and gave me one of his older ones because we were going to cut it up anyways. All we had to do was cut the handle off and make the wires longer. Then after removing the drill chuck and making an adapter from a fitting, I was able to lock the top of the drill in place. I did a little test, and bent some toothless gears that I had to put in the gearbox because normal gears just skip teeth. So right now I’m seeing if I can swap out the toothless gears and the gear ratio that goes behind it out for a worm gear.
