Wiring The Beep

A few weeks ago, I started running new wires from the front to the back of the Beep (Power Wagon) for the all the lights.

Most of the wiring that was in the Beep when we got it was original rag wire. It’s so old and dried out, if you touch or bend it the insulation falls off. On Tuesday, my dad and I started rewiring the dash. In a few places there were bare wire, and on one of the main wires there was a chunk of an old garden hose covering the open spots. The key had been previously rewired so that the push button would work without the key in it, but it looks like it was wired to only do the starter and not the spark. When we drove it home, the only gauge that worked was the temp gauge, because the previous owner put in a new one trying to figure out if the old gauge worked or if it just took a really long time to warm up. The last of the old wire on the Beep is on the pull switch for all the lights and the dash lights. It’s also really hard to do anything behind the dash because there’s not much room to lay down to get under it, and it doesn’t come off.
