Sanding The Beep

Two weeks ago, I started sanding the Beep so we can paint it.

Because it’s so old, where it has paint left, there are several layers. From what I could see around it, it was painted yellow, red, grey, white, avocado green, and several other darker greens. On the front fenders, it still has a thick original paint under all the other spray paints previous owners have put on it to keep it from rusting. The avocado green was brushed onto the floor and dash in the front. In addition to all the layers of paint, the original paint is probably a lead paint so I have to wear a respirator and have a vacuum right behind the drill. The sanders don’t really work on the stuff on the inside because of all the dents, bulges, and patches everywhere, so I’ve been using a kind of soft grinding wheel on a corded drill to sand everything.
