1 Mercury Barometer : Through Galileo, Torricelli became interested in the problem miners had when pumping water out of mines. Torricelli built a model of the mine with water in his backyard and drew attention. He used mercury instead of water to make a smaller model, and on accident created the Mercury Barometer. The barometer is used to measure the pressure of the atmosphere.
2 Vacuum Pump : It was invented when the German scientist named Otto von Guericke heard of the barometer. He invented the vacuum pump do demonstrate man-made vacuums.
3 Pendulum clock : Christiaan Huygens was born in 1629 in the Dutch republic. He learned of the pendulum through Galileo’s insights. Huygens finished what Galileo started and invented the first pendulum clock.
4 Robert Boyle : Robert Boyle was born in 1627 and studied Galileo’s work. He became a member of the invisible college to conduct scientific investigations and learned of the vacuum pump in 1657. He published a book called Skeptical Chemist.
